Records and Reports

Requesting A Report:

A fee of $1.50 will be charged for each copy of a CAD or criminal report. A fee of $5.00 will be charged for walk-in requests for a collision report by an involved party. Requests by an authorized business entity are available for a $ 10 charge, whether by mail or walk-in.

Due to matters of confidentiality, matters that are private or sensitive in nature may not be available to all parties. For clarification contact the records section at (270) 687-8845. However, victims of crime or those involved in a collision (including vehicle insurer) may follow these procedures for obtaining copies of a report.

Civilian Accident Reports

Did a Police Officer instruct you to get a “Civilian Traffic Collision Report” form?  These reports are now completed online, you can file one here:

Complaint and Offense Report

Reports on open cases for crime, violations, incidents, etc., please provide the following:

• The case number (if provided by the police officer)
• Name of the complainant
• Information about type of offense (such as what was stolen, where it was stolen from)
• Date and location of offense
• Complainant’s name and address

Collision Reports

Please provide the following:

• The case number
• Name of Driver/Owner
• Location of Collision
• Date of Collision

The Owensboro Police Department no longer provides local records checks. Please contact the Administrative Office of the Courts at www.courts.ky.gov or 1-800-928-6381 for help with your request.
